The walkable village of Lansdowne combines the best of small town living with its fabulous location just minutes to the city and all it has to offer.  Located 5 miles west of Philadelphia, the train ride to University City is just 12 minutes; Center City can be reached in 17 minutes.  Lansdowne has two train stations, and the Airport and Blue Route are less than 15 minutes away.

Lansdowne is one square mile of tree-lined streets, with many fine examples of 19th century Victorian and Tudor Revival architecture in two National Historic Districts. There are many cultural and social groups active in the town, including an excellent symphony orchestra, a talented theater group, boys and girls clubs, a swim club and a terrific folk club. Lansdowne is also home to an arts festival weekend in the fall and a fun farmer's market Saturday mornings. All of this helps to make Lansdowne the ideal community in which to buy a home.  Philadelphia Magazine agrees. When they identified 40 towns and neighborhoods in the Philadelphia area that they "predict will see big popularity gains (and hence price gains) in the next 10 years,"  Lansdowne was one of just three towns in Delaware County that made the list! The Historic Lansdowne Theater restoration project has recently begun! Watch out, big things are happening in this little Historic Village near a City!
